Yoga is an ancient practice that involves flowing through a sequence of strength and stretching postures, or asanas. In addition to helping you to clear your mind and get centered, yoga also improves your physical health by increasing flexibility, building muscle strength, improving respiration and cardiovascular health and balancing your metabolism.
If you’re looking for a more intense workout, you may enjoy a HIIT (or "high intensity interval training") workout. HIIT workouts alternate between short bursts of intense, fast-paced activity and less intense activity or rests. If you’re looking to burn calories and lose weight, HIIT workouts are the way to go — in fact, some studies show that doing just 15 minutes of HIIT burns more calories than spending one hour on the treadmill.
