Looking for something to do that will brighten your holiday season? The Winter Walk of Lights at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens should be at the top of your list. Now back for its eighth season, this rain-or-shine event transforms Meadowlark Botanical Gardens into a bona fide winter wonderland that spans a half-mile-long walking trail. Along the way, you’ll pass brilliantly illuminated holiday displays, from string light-wrapped trees to fanciful botanical displays that echo the gardens’ flora and fauna. It’s a wonderful way to get in the holiday spirit near your apartment at Halstead Square!
Tickets for the Winter Walk are available online, but you can also buy them at the door for a higher price. Children under two years of age get in free. When visiting the walk, be sure to dress for the weather as the entire half-mile course is outdoors. Paved asphalt walkways that meet ADA requirements make it possible for wheelchairs and strollers to travel the path.
